Personal Training

Build strength, move with confidence, and create a training routine designed around your body and goals.

At Catalyst, personal training is shaped by our clinical physical therapy side—so your program is built on real movement assessment, tissue capacity, and long-term injury prevention, not the latest fitness trend.

Training Built for Your Real Life

Our personal trainers understand that each person is unique and should be treated as such. With years of experience working alongside physical therapists, our trainers work successfully with people of all ages and fitness levels—from athletes and weekend warriors to kids and senior citizens.

Every session includes frequent adjustments to exercise form and guidance on the difference between “good pain” and “bad pain.” The goal is healthy change: better movement, stronger habits, and training that helps you stay active instead of getting sidelined.

  • More confidence in moving and exercising
  • Personalized exercise programming for your needs
  • Improved fitness, energy, and lean body mass
  • Greater exercise self-efficacy and motivation
  • Better awareness of risky movement patterns and reduced injury risk
  • More independence and confidence for an active life

Choose Your Training Format

Whether you want focused one-on-one coaching, the energy of a group, or a plan that works around a busy schedule, Catalyst offers flexible ways to train.

One-on-One Personal Training

For the person who wants uninterrupted attention, customized workouts, and skilled form adjustments. Each session is dialed in to your specific needs, with progress tracked from session to session.

  • 30-minute sessions
  • 45-minute sessions
  • Physical-therapist supervised
Small Group Training

Want to train with a workout partner? Add them to your hour and lower your cost while still receiving individualized coaching, form feedback, and programming support.

It is a practical option for friends, partners, or training teammates who want to work toward healthier movement together.

Better Body Group Training

Designed for the social person who enjoys exercising with friends. Group fitness classes are still built with your needs in mind and are physical-therapist supervised.

  • Physical-therapist supervised classes
  • Classes held twice weekly
Online Training Program Design

Need a program but cannot attend regularly scheduled training? Meet with your trainer every four weeks for form adjustments, goal-setting, and exercise updates, with emails as needed to support accountability between visits.

Program length is established with your trainer based on your goals and current level of function.

A Smarter Transition From Rehab to Performance

Many people finish physical therapy and are left to figure out what comes next. Catalyst offers a clear continuum of care: acute care, active rehabilitation, and performance training. When you transition out of physical therapy, your trainer can communicate directly with the clinician who treated you, allowing your program to pick up where rehab left off rather than starting from scratch.

Training is built around your goals, schedule, and what your body can sustain. You also have direct access to Catalyst Performance, our companion gym, for ongoing strength, mobility, and conditioning work after rehabilitation wraps.

Personal training is available across Catalyst’s San Diego clinics and at Catalyst Performance. Start with a free consultation to find the right trainer match.
