Helping children move, participate, and feel confident at home, at school, in the community, and during recreational activities.
Kids are not small adults. Their bodies, motivations, and growth patterns need a care plan built around their individual needs.
Our pediatric physical therapy practice is dedicated to helping children operate to the best of their ability. We focus on the movement skills that support participation in daily life—from keeping up at school and on the playground to returning to the sports and activities they enjoy.
Every visit is supervised by a physical therapist who helps children feel safe, engaged, and proud of the work they are doing. We also work closely with parents on bite-sized home exercise updates designed to fit a child’s schedule and attention, and can coordinate with school PE teachers, coaches, and referring pediatricians as needed.
Our team includes pediatric-focused physical therapy experience, including Missy Goff Korsmeyer, DPT, whose mixed orthopedic and pediatric clinical rotation inspired her to help kids of all ages achieve milestones and interact more easily with the world around them.
We create individualized plans around your child’s diagnosis, movement needs, and goals for participation.
Support for sprains, strains, fractures, post-fracture recovery, adolescent sports injuries, and concerns involving the knee, ankle, shoulder, or other areas affected by activity and growth.
Care for conditions including torticollis, plagiocephaly, and hip dysplasia, with attention to movement, positioning, and developmental participation.
Individualized support for children with cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, Down syndrome, developmental delays, autism, and developmental coordination challenges.
Guidance for lordosis, kyphosis, forward-head posture, flat feet, Sever’s disease, Osgood-Schlatter, and movement concerns that can arise as children grow and become more active.
We start with a thorough conversation about your child’s history, goals, and the reason for the visit. Then we use hands-on assessment of range of motion, strength, joint mobility, and movement patterns that are relevant to their needs.
Each session builds on the last with skilled therapy, movement retraining, age-appropriate exercise progressions, and reassessments. Your family leaves with a working plan and manageable home-program steps—not a flood of exercises.
Growing bodies benefit from thoughtful movement guidance. Catalyst can help identify physical challenges, build corrective exercise strategies, and support healthy cross-training and recovery habits. Our goal is to help young athletes develop strength, coordination, and movement efficiency while reducing the risk of overuse and burnout.
We offer pediatric physical therapy across our San Diego clinics. If you are unsure whether Catalyst is the right fit, start with a no-charge 20–30 minute conversation with a physical therapist.
Tell us what is limiting your child and what they hope to get back to doing. Our team will help you choose the right next step.
